Economic Fears Give Obama Clear Lead Over McCain in Poll

Seems like the Economic turmoil is giving Obama a lead, but I posted earlier an article on the accuracy of polling.

Turmoil in the financial industry and growing pessimism about the economy have altered the shape of the presidential race, giving Democratic nominee Barack Obama the first clear lead of the general-election campaign over Republican John McCain, according to the latest Washington PostABC News national poll.

Just 9 percent of those surveyed rated the economy as good or excellent, the first time that number has been in single digits since the days just before the 1992 election. Just 14 percent said the country is heading in the right direction, equaling the record low on that question in polls dating back to 1973.

    Still to early to tell….

But it is a dire mess. Its hard to think that 9 percent rated the economy/excellent condition. I’m sure its fair to assume that the majority of these 9 percent belong to the high-income brackets or upper middle class/upper class… for someone to observe the current situation and rate is good must be delusional.

I think John McCain has bigger worries…. Her name is Sarah Palin. His campaign is obviously shielding her from the Press/Media due to all the investigations and rumors surrounding her. Does America want to elect someone with so much baggage ?! This is will only deter her and the President (if McCain) from running the country efficiently. This election is no longer electrifying, its scary!! Cause to to think that American will vote for a McCain, a person deep in age, with lack of charisma and partnered w/ a inexperienced and trouble individual… is INSANE! He can’t do it alone and w/ her by his side, he will be doing it alone!!

In my humble opinion… the reason Obama is not higher in the polls or supported by more Americans is because of ethnicity, (questionable) religion and the clear fact that he is “Different” than what the Americans are a custom to and willing to deal with (although I hope to be proven wrong). Him being shun from the White House will show CLEARLY how racist and scared Americans are from CHANGE.

The Economy is shot!! Its here and its only going to get worse for the time being. I honestly don’t believe either party will make it bounce back anytime soon, and I think its not right for anyone to realistically think that it is going to happen w/in the first half of either party’s term in office. What they need to concentrate on is finding a low ground and a plan to build back the economy slowly and carefully. One way of doing this…is making Americans feel comfortable that better days are ahead. Promoting and creating CHANGE that will make sense for the majority. Start reversing some of the past decisions that help created this mess (i.e. allowing companies to send so many jobs overseas)… Its time to create incentives to get jobs back in the country, for Americans need it NOW not TOMORROW. There are a lot of steps to be taken, but both parties need to work together for the people of American and the WORLD!

I also think many countries/regions across the globe need to use this crisis to rethink their own economical strategies (such as, pegging their currencies to US etc…) is this a good or bad thing for the long-term, for now it looks really bad for many who are pegged. Also…. Trade agreements and governmental intervention regulations within private sectors… There is a lot to learn from the current economical crisis EVERYONE is facing…for its not just an American crisis.

So we have a little over a month to go to see what America decides. The next 30 days will be quite intense, I assume!! Good luck to Wachovia Bank (4th largest bank in the US), who is now on the verge of collapsing if someone doesn’t save them! Will it be another WaMu mess? Days will tell!!
